2003
European Quality Award
The awarding ceremony of EQA - European Quality Award 2003, the most prestigious European award for Organisational Excellence, was held in Helsinki on 9th October during the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Forum 2003, entitled "Inspired people drive success".
Robur S.p.A. is "Prize Winner" of the EQA 2003, obtaining the special award for "Leadership and constancy of purpose".
Robur's participation in EQA 2003 is part of its way of doing business: it is a growth opportunity for the company through effectively and systematically exploited self-assessment mechanisms that improve its business and competitive standing.
For some time, in fact, the company's quality programme has allowed it to achieve significant results both within the company and on the domestic and international markets.
In 1985, the Quality Circles made their official entry into Robur, thereby allowing a widespread company Quality Culture to be developed.
In 1993, the company began preparing to certify its Quality System to ISO 9001. Right from the start, the company saw certification as a "means" and not an "end" towards creating a continuous improvement system tailored to Customer Service: at the beginning of 1995, AFAQ certified the Robur Quality System to ISO 9001.
Another concrete example of this approach was the establishment of the Customer Satisfaction Service in 2000. This function reports directly to the President and constantly monitors the satisfaction of customers in the widest sense of the term: end users, wholesalers, fitters, technical assistants, designers and heating engineers.
In 2001 Robur became the first company in Europe in the air-conditioning and heating sector to obtain ISO 9001:2000 (Vision 2000) certification. It also won first prize in the Italian Quality Award 2001, proof of the excellence achieved both in its sphere of work and in the wider general management context.
We are already aiming at our next target, ISO 14001 certification, as we believe that Robur products must protect both the Environment and the entire company organisation.
Robur's commitment to Quality beyond the production line is considered as a fundamental value and involves all company activities. Particular emphasis is given to the centrality of Human Resources in a context of the informed and motivated involvement of each member of staff and in the conviction that satisfied and responsible employees are the key to the success of a company.
