This brochure contains sample buildings in Berlin, which have received awards for the competition ' Climate Partner of the Year ' held by Berlin City.
In particular , Robur solutions have been chosen for:
- Berlin Public Baths (see p. 87): The comprehensive energetic reconstruction of the Mitte Public Baths has led to a reduction in primary energy requirements to 760 MWh/a. As part of the upgrade project, the existing system consisting of 3 gas boilers was completely replaced. In doing so, an integrated concept was implemented with a CHP (50 kW electr./ 80 kW therm. for basic load coverage) and Robur gas absorption heat pumps (with 4 units, total power 160 kW to cover the basic loadrequired for the ventilation systems) by exploiting the remaining energy content of the exhaust air from the ventilation systems. The requirements for long-term monitoring were accomplished especially for the gas absorption heat pumps by installing additional measurement equipment and counters to enable the assessment, monitoring and improvement of efficiency for the system. 80 tons of CO2 are saved each year thanks to this solution.
- Semi-detached house module (see p. 29): The semi-detached house was built as a joint project by 8 families, close to the centre of the city. The architecturally sophisticated multiple-family new building was designed in compliance with the low energy standard KfW 40. Power is supplied by Robur gas absorption heat pumps. Every year, the innovative concept saves 3,000 kg of climate-damaging CO2 compared with a condensing boiler and 13,000b kg compared with the standard EnEV embodiment. Over a period of 20 years this means that more than 260 tonnes of CO2 will be saved.
