				Customer requirements
The Geely PetroChina N°1 Residential Complex is a large housing facility covering 14,100 m², located in Luoyang. Hot water for the central heating system was originally supplied by gas boilers. To reduce emissions, improve system efficiency, and lower energy costs, the heating system was upgraded using gas absorption heat pumps powered by aerothermal renewable energy.
				The Robur solution
70 GAHP A gas absorption heat pumps were supplied and integrated with 6 gas boilers.
The Advantages
- Gas consumption decreased from 9.79 to 6.83 m3 per m2 of apartment space, improving heating system efficiency by 30%.
 - The modular solution enabled better management of partial thermal loads, allowing for accurate water flow regulation and reducing average electricity consumption from 2.81 to 1.85 kWh/m2.
 - The heating system uses about 800,000 kWh of renewable energy annually, cutting CO2 emissions by 270 tonnes.
 - The 70 heat pumps require only 60 kW of electricity, saving approximately 900 kW compared to a fully electric system, avoiding the need to expand the electrical substation.
